Established in 2009, IHR has built one of the UK's leading communities for in-house recruiters and talent acquisition professionals. As part of its membership programme the organisation delivers more than 30 live and virtual events annually, including exhibitions, conferences, awards programmes, networking events and webinars.
The company has hosted IHR Live at the Business Design Centre in London since 2016 and at the Victoria Warehouse in Manchester since 2018. Many of its 100+ exhibitors are tech companies with high expectations around communication, professionalism and service delivery.
Like many growing businesses, the organisation of events had evolved organically and operations were managed through a network of systems. Sales activity sat within HubSpot, while exhibitor tracking relied heavily on Excel spreadsheets. Exhibitor manuals, forms and documentation were distributed through PDFs, with additional processes spread across Google tools and SharePoint.
For the small events and marketing team, this created significant administrative overhead.
The challenge became more pressing when a key member of the team began preparing for maternity leave. With much of the operational knowledge and day-to-day process management the responsibility of one individual, there was a need to review event ops, to avoid a potential continuity risk for the organisation's flagship events.

With an awareness that event tech would be a useful investment, the IHR team were introduced to Eventflow through LinkedIn.
